Dev Hirani is a psoriasis advocate and content creator whose journey with psoriatic disease began more than thirteen years ago. Growing up in Kenya, he was supported by a dermatologist who helped him manage the condition effectively for many years. However, after moving to the United Kingdom for university, changes to his treatment routine under the NHS led to an abrupt medication switch and a severe flare-up that left him 90% covered in psoriasis, nearly immobile, and emotionally exhausted. That experience became a turning point in his life, deepening his understanding of the physical and mental impact of psoriasis as well as the stigma and misunderstanding often surrounding visible skin conditions. Since then, Dev has been committed to sharing his story openly in order to support others living with psoriatic disease and to encourage more honest conversations about skin health, resilience, and self-acceptance.
Driven by a desire to help others feel less alone, Dev created an Instagram platform dedicated to documenting his psoriasis journey and raising awareness about the realities of living with chronic skin disease. Through his posts, he shares personal experiences, coping strategies, and messages of body positivity while fostering a supportive online community built on openness, empathy, and empowerment. He also participates in awareness initiatives such as World Psoriasis Day, using social media as a tool to challenge stigma and promote greater understanding of psoriatic disease. Dev is passionate about advocacy and hopes to expand his impact as a Psoriatic Disease Ambassador. By combining lived experience with authentic storytelling, he aims to inspire others, encourage compassion, and advocate for improved awareness and care for people living with psoriasis worldwide.
