Young Adults Living with Psoriasis - Global Report

As part of the World Psoriasis Day 2026 campaign, Look Beyond My Skin, we interviewed more than 20 people aged 18–37 from around the world. We asked how psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis had affected their lives but also gave them the freedom to tell us what they felt was most important. The result is a collection of personal stories about growing up with psoriatic disease, the challenges young people face, and what they want others to understand about their lives.

In Our Own Words Campaign Poster

This is the first report of its kind putting the voices and personal stories of young people living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis at the center. Young people from around the world speak openly about their experiences, the challenges they face and what they want others to understand.

One in three people living with psoriasis experience their first symptoms before the age of 20. For many, this means navigating a painful, unpredictable and often stigmatized disease during some of the most important and formative years of their lives.

The report is structured around young people's experiences, from managing physical symptoms, pain, fatigue and flare-ups to coping with the emotional and mental health impact of the disease. It explores how psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis affect friendships, dating, relationships, education and working life, as well as young people's experiences of healthcare and access to treatment. The report concludes with a chapter, From Listening to Action, outlining what needs to change to better support young people living with psoriatic disease.
