World Psoriasis Day 2021 - Czech Republic
28 January 2022
By Josef Pohunek
No one with psoriatic disease should be left alone with their worries. That´s why we decided to hold a POLKA DOT DAY on the occasion of WPD. The aim of this event was to inform the public about the nature of this chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease of whole organism and the symptoms which are visible on the skin, but in addition to it also affects the nails and joints. It is very important that the public knows that psoriasis is not infectious, it can be treated, but so far it cannot be cured completely.
The polka dot day was supported by patients and the public from all over the Czech Republic (in hospitals, companies, schools, kindergartens and many other institutions). On this day we got dressed clothes or accessories with polka dots. Discussions with students in schools were also a great success.
By purchasing a special edition of traditional Igráček figures (Pokeeto) made in the Czech Republic, people contribute to a therapeutic trip to the sea for selected pediatric patients with psoriasis.
We will be very happy if you join us next year and we will support patient together.
