Association of people suffering from psoriasis and psoriatic disorders
102.73 thousand Bulgarians are living with psoriatic disease.
In Bulgaria, the incidence of psoriasis is 1.8% of the population. Over 50% of patients have the mild form of disease and the majority of them do not receive treatment. Moderate to severe form of frequency (affecting more than 3% of the body surface) is observed in 17% of patients and requires continuous treatment.
The question of heredity is very interesting and relevant, especially when it comes to the so-called family (family) cases. The frequency of familial psoriasis varies from 10-90% in different statistics. In Bulgaria, familial predisposition occurs in about 30% of patients with psoriasis. If one of the parents has the disease, the risk of it spreading to the child ranges from 17 to 20%. and when the disease is present in both parents, the probability of development in the child increases from 31 to 75%. There are cases in which the disease manifests itself first in children, and later in their parents.
