IFPA – More Than Skin Deep: Addressing Psoriatic Disease and its comorbidities

Room: Darwin Hall (300 pax in theater)
Objectives: Raise awareness to attendees about the large impact of psoriatic disease on the lives of those living with the disease. Psoriatic disease is associated with the increased risk of developing other non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes and obesity, and mental health disorders. Through key expert presentations from the medical and patient perspective, attendees will learn how to think about and address psoriatic disease more holistically.

Speakers
Professor Curdin Conrad
Dr. Curdin Conrad is a Professor of Dermatology at Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland. He completed his MD training and Postgraduate Course of Experimental Medicine and Biology at the University of Zurich. Dr. Conrad has a strong interest in inflammatory skin diseases, adaptive and innate immunity, and targeted immunotherapies, contributed significantly to today’s understanding of the pathogenesis of psoriasis, an effort that resulted in several awards for his basic and translational research. Dr Conrad has actively been involved in the teaching of evidence-based clinical and scientific dermatology and immunology. He serves as an external scientific expert for several international societies and foundations. Dr. Conrad is an elected councilor of the International Psoriasis Council (IPC), President-elect of ESDR and sits on the Board of Directors of the International Societies for Investigative Dermatology (ISID).
Emma Vyvey
Mrs. Emma Vyvey, Master of Science in Nursing, is a PhD researcher at the Department of Dermatology at Ghent University Hospital. She is committed to advancing value-based healthcare and care pathways for people with psoriasis by aligning care with what truly matters to patients. In addidtion, her work includes developing an international patient-centred outcome set for routine care. As a nurse, she emphasises a holistic, patient-centred approach to improve outcomes that matter, experiences, and access to resources, recognising that the impact of psoriasis goes far beyond the skin.
Ilse Van Ee
Ilse have had psoriatic diseases since she was 4 years old. Ilse is a professional patient advocate in the Netherlands. In addition to her work with IFPA as an ambassador, she is a trained EUPATI Fellow. In the Netherlands Ilse coordinates all activities about quality and patient representation at the patient organization. Ilse also participates in various projects like guidelines, research and now also on a project on biomarkers. She is the writer of the study "Freedom of Disease Psoriasis."
