    Professor Jo Lambert

    President

    Jo Lambert is a Senior Full Professor in Dermatology and Venereology, and chairing the Department of Dermatology at Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium. She is current chair of the EADV Task Force Psoriasis, Councilor International Psoriasis Council. And Associate Editor of JEADV.

    She specialises in the fields of immune dermatoses. Her research interests lie in the improvement of care in immune-mediated inflammatory skin disorders: from advanced models of topical drug delivery to personalised dosing of biologicals. She founded the DermPlus approach, an example of a value-based integrated practice unit for immune-mediated chronic skin diseases. She is member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine. She has 288 publications, 6980 sum of times cited, and an H-index of 46.

  • Joel M Gelfand

    Professor Joel M. Gelfand

    President-elect

    Joel M. Gelfand MD MSCE is the James J. Leyden Endowed Professor of Clinical Investigation, and Professor (with tenure) of Dermatology and Epidemiology, Director (co-founding) of the Center for Clinical Sciences in Dermatology, and Director of the Psoriasis and Phototherapy Treatment Center at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert in psoriasis, epidemiology, drug safety, and clinical trials. Dr. Gelfand is the author of over 330 scientific publications cited over 43,000 times (H index 103). His research program was the first to establish that psoriasis patients have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality. He conducts patient centered research through the Dermatology Clinical Effectiveness Research Network (DCERN), which he founded in 2009 and involves over 50 dermatology practices in the US. He has received investigator-initiated research grants from NIH, FDA, PCORI, Foundations, and industry. He has given over 10 named lectureships and keynote addresses including the SID ’s Eugene M. Farber lecture and the AAD’s Marion B. Sulzberger lecture. He is the recipient of the American College of Epidemiology 2023 Outstanding Contributions Award, the American Skin Association’s Psoriasis Achievement Award, the Lady Barbara Colyton’s Award for Autoimmune research, the National Psoriasis Foundation’s lifetime achievement award, the American Dermatoepidemiology Network’s Founders award, and is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the International Psoriasis Council and the Medical Dermatology Society.

  • Vinod Chandran

    Vinod Chandran

    Co-chair Rheumatology

    Vinod Chandran MBBS, MD, DM, PhD, FRCPC, a rheumatologist, is a clinician scientist at the Schroeder Arthritis, University Health Network (UHN), Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and holds the Dr. Dafna D. Gladman Chair in Psoriatic Arthritis Research at UHN. He is an expert in psoriatic arthritis and directs the Gladman Krembil Psoriatic Arthritis Program at the Schroeder Arthritis Institute. His translational research program is focused on developing biomarker-based diagnostic and prognostic tools for psoriatic arthritis, with support by grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the National Psoriasis Foundation, the Arthritis Society, and the Krembil Foundation. He has published more than 250 papers. He is an elected member of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA- an international organization facilitating research and education on the management of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis) Board of Directors and its Co-Vice President.

  • Claudia de la Cruz

    Dr. Claudia de la Cruz

    Dermatologist

    Dr. Claudia de la Cruz is a dermatologist in Santiago, Chile. She earned her degree at Universidad de Chile and was an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile between 2005 and 2013. Dr. de la Cruz is the Founder and Director of Clínica Dermacross since 2010 in Santiago. She has served on the Board of Directors of the International Psoriasis Council since 2017 and is a regional coordinator for Latin America for the Global Psoriasis Atlas project. Her focus has been on working for psoriasis in her country through the Chilean Society of Dermatology at the beginning of her career, and then for Latin America, where she has led the IPC Latin American working group together with Ricardo Romiti from Brazil. She is an International Scientific Advisory Board member for PsO Protect. As regional coordinator for Latin America for the Global Psoriasis Atlas, she has focused on collecting information on the incidence of psoriasis in Latin America, helping to build a net of experts throughout the region. She has helped raise awareness and improve access to treatment in the region, evaluating the different barriers to access in Latin America and other underserved areas in the world. She has also worked in education at the IPC, first on the International Fellowship program, which helps train new leaders in the psoriasis field. In 2023, she received the Eikon Gold Award 2023 in health sustainability for her work in psoriasis in Chile. She is currently chair of the IPC Masterclass Steering Committee.

  • Wilson Liao

    Dr. Wilson Liao

    Professor of Dermatology

    Dr. Wilson Liao is Professor of Dermatology and Director of the Psoriasis Center at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University, medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and completed a residency in dermatology at UCSF. Dr. Liao is a practicing dermatologist with expertise in biologic therapy and phototherapy and human geneticist who has contributed to the identification of over 60 psoriasis susceptibility genes. He has led numerous genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and microbiome studies in psoriasis. Dr. Liao’s group has also investigated the impact of environmental factors on psoriasis, including diet, stress, exercise, sleep, and meditation. He currently serves as a Councilor for the International Psoriasis Council and Co-Chair of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Research Committee. As an educator, Dr. Liao has received numerous teaching and mentoring awards.

    Dr. Alexis Ogdie

    Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology

    Dr. Ogdie is Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology in the Perelman School of Medicine. She is also Director of the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Director of the Penn Psoriatic Arthritis and Spondyloarthritis Program. The mission of her research program is to improve outcomes in psoriatic arthritis by accelerating diagnosis, increasing the focus on meaningful, patient-centered outcomes, and developing and advancing methods for precision medicine.

    Prof. Ennio Lubrano

    Professor of Rheumatology

    Professor Ennio Lubrano is Full Professor of Rheumatology at the Department of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Molise, Campobasso. He is the Director of the Academic Rheumatology Unit, Ospedale Cardarelli, Campobasso,NHS, Italy.  He is the Coordinator of the PhD School of Traslational and Clinical Medicine, University of Molise, Italy

    Professor Lubrano has been Guest Professor at the Department of Rheumatology of the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium, and Vice-President of the Italian Society for Rheumatology.

    Professor Lubrano is member of various scientific institutions including the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA) in which he has been a Steering Committee Member, and of the Assessment of Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS). 

    Main research interests include clinical research on outcome measures, imaging, and biomarkers in all spondyloarthritis including Psoriatic Arthritis.

    He has authored or co-authored 292 publications, H-index 43, for several peer-reviewed journals, and acted as a reviewer for a large number of international journals.

    Prof. Peter van de Kerkhof

    Head of Department of Dermatology, Professor Emeritus

    Professor Peter van de Kerkhof served as head of the Department of Dermatology at the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, The Netherlands, since 1992 and is currently a Professor Emeritus there. He graduated in medicine from the Catholic University of Nijmegen in 1978 and trained in dermatology at the St. Radboud Hospital, Nijmegen. In 1983 and in 1990 he completed his theses in the faculty of medicine and faculty of sciences resp. Between 1980 and 1984 he completed his training as a dermatologist. Research interests of Professor van de Kerkhof are psoriasis, disorders of keratinization, inflammation and clinical pharmacology of the skin. He has been president of major European Dermatological societies such as the European Society of Dermatological Research and the European Dermatology Forum. He is a member of the editorial board of several international dermatological journals. He is an author or co-author of more than 800 peer-reviewed dermatological journals. He joined the IPC Staff as Chief Medical Officer in July 2018.

  • Satveer Mahil

    Dr Satveer Mahil

    Consultant Dermatologist

    Dr Satveer Mahil is a Consultant Dermatologist at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Reader at King's College London. She graduated from the University of Cambridge and completed integrated academic training (NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship and NIHR Clinical Lectureship) in Dermatology at St John's Institute of Dermatology. During her MRC-funded PhD, she used genetic information to gain novel insights into the mechanistic basis of different forms of psoriasis and define new therapeutic targets. After her PhD, she was awarded an MRC Clinical Academic Research Partnership Award and she currently holds an NIHR Advanced Fellowship. Her translational research seeks to optimise outcomes for individuals with inflammatory skin diseases including psoriasis and eczema. She is director of St John's DermAcademy (dermatology education academy).
