Psoriatic disease affects the whole body – inside and out

Inside Psoriatic Disease: Diabetes

22 April 2021

By IFPA

In this report , we explore the link between psoriatic disease and diabetes. Summarizing current scientific evidence, this report identifies obstacles to holistic care and proposes solutions for prevention and screening of diabetes in people living with psoriatic disease grounded in a model of integrated care services.

Psoriatic disease and diabetes are mutually enforcing agendas. When at-risk individuals such as people living with psoriatic disease receive screening and counselling for diabetes, we are getting closer to a model of care that puts people at the center. Integrating diabetes screening and counselling into psoriatic disease care is a necessary step to implement the recommendations listed in the WHO Global Report on Psoriasis, and achieve health for all.
