IFPA Elects New Board During the 2025 General Assembly in Bogotá, Colombia

On April 6, 2025, during our General Assembly in Bogotá, Colombia, IFPA proudly elected a new Board. This marks an exciting new chapter for IFPA as we continue our mission to improve the lives of all people living with psoriatic disease worldwide.

IFPA stands at the forefront of advocacy, uniting a psoriatic disease community from every corner of the globe. Our new Board reflects the strength and diversity of our movement: representing every region, bringing together decades of advocacy experience, and merging new perspectives with proven leadership. Together, they will drive our mission forward — strengthening policies, expanding access to care, advancing research, and building a world where no one living with psoriatic disease is left behind.

Meet IFPA's New Leadership

President: Ingvar Ágúst Ingvarsson (Iceland)
Ingvar is the Chairman of the Psoriasis and Eczema Association Iceland and a member of Spoex. With a background in IT, strategy building, and project management, he brings deep personal empathy as someone living with psoriasis. Ingvar is passionate about empowering the psoriatic disease community through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Vice President: Helen Crawford (Canada)
Helen, Senior Program Manager at Psoriasis Canada, has over 12 years of experience advocating for people with psoriatic disease. She brings strong expertise in nonprofit management, communications, and strategic development. Helen is committed to keeping IFPA forward-looking and patient-centered.

Treasurer: Josef de Guzman (Philippines)
Josef is the founder of Psoriasis Philippines and PsorAsia, with extensive leadership experience in patient advocacy and organizational development. A longtime IFPA board member, he is dedicated to fostering growth, sustainability, and mentorship for the next generation of advocates.

Secretary: Sofia Lovi Ramasamy (Malaysia)
Sofia is the Interim President of the Psoriasis Association Malaysia. She is a strong advocate for healthcare accessibility and stigma reduction, bringing skills in media relations, strategic development, and public speaking to IFPA’s leadership team.

Board Member: Silvia Fernandez Barrio (Argentina)
Silvia, Founder and President of AEPSO, is a journalist and TV anchor with a lifetime of advocacy behind her. Her leadership has been pivotal in securing treatment access for psoriatic disease patients in Argentina and globally. She is a tireless champion for patient rights.

Board Member: Masanori Okuse (Japan)
Masanori, Secretary General of the Japan Psoriasis Association and Vice President of PsorAsia, brings over 25 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry and patient advocacy. His expertise spans marketing, medical ethics, project management, and patient engagement in clinical research.

Board Member: Jaime Melancia (Portugal)
Jaime is the President of PSOPortugal and a Board Member of Europso. With a strong background in strategic planning and advocacy, he has dedicated his career to building collaborative healthcare networks and ensuring that patients’ voices are heard at national and international levels.
