Being Young with Psoriasis: The Invisible StruggleBreaking Barriers Webinar Series:
28 August 2026
By IFPA
Clinical research is the foundation of medical progress. Every new medicine, treatment and innovation depends on clinical research and clinical trials. Yet for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis—chronic, systemic diseases affecting more than 100 million people worldwide—many people living with these conditions remain underrepresented in clinical research and clinical trials.
People living with psoriatic disease represent every age, ethnicity and background, yet clinical trials do not always reflect this diversity.
On the one hand, stigma, discrimination, practical barriers and misconceptions prevent many people from participating in research. On the other hand, the study design, protocol, and specific eligibility criteria exclude many who would benefit from the trial. Building more inclusive clinical trials is essential to ensure that future treatments are safe, effective and relevant for everyone living with psoriatic disease.
IFPA invites you to join our two-part webinar series, Towards Inclusive and Equitable Clinical Trials, developed as part of the Breaking Barriers Project. Breaking Barriers is IFPA's global initiative, aimed to promote more inclusive and equitable clinical trials for people living with psoriatic disease.
WEBINAR 1
Keith Berelowitz, Founder and CEO of Trialport
The webinar will be held in English.
Clinical trials can seem complicated or intimidating. Many people have questions about what participation actually involves, whether trials are safe, and who can take part.
In this webinar, we will separate myths from facts, explore how clinical trials are designed and regulated to protect participants, and discuss the barriers that continue to discourage many people from taking part in research.
Whether you are a healthcare professional, researcher, patient advocate or policymaker, living with psoriatic disease or caring for someone who is — this webinar will answer your questions about clinical trials, explain what participation really involves, address common myths and concerns, and explore how each of us can help make clinical research more inclusive.
