Thank you to IFPA’s members and partners for the warm welcome to this community. In my 6 weeks at IFPA, I have had the opportunity to meet the members virtually in four regional meetings, and start digging into the fascinating and important work of IFPA. I thank our members and partners for the warm welcome to this community. Your optimism for upcoming work has intensified my own enthusiasm. We have much to look forward to in 2021!
2021 will mark the 50th anniversary of the International Federation of Psoriasis Associations. This important milestone will coincide with the 6th World Psoriasis & Psoriatic Arthritis Conference scheduled for July 1 – 3. It also falls on the year of UNITED, which will be the theme of World Psoriasis Day 2021 and will inform all our work leading up to October 29th. These are important opportunities to build awareness of IFPA’s achievements over our 50-year history, and further turn a new page. We are prepared to grow as a federation. We will welcome new IFPA members in 2021, uniting even more peer resources and reaching previously under-served parts of the world.
We will become more active in advocacy and science by continuing to grow our space in the NCD sphere and by building our participation in the medical community. We will define IFPA’s long-term global strategy, supported by national and regional targets we have designed with our members. In this way, we will create a fresh new face for IFPA, one that will be even more dynamic and useful to the global community of people living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
As we grow in capacity and numbers, it will be important to simultaneously grow in UNITY. We have been pleased to draw our international members closer in 2020 through virtual meetings and phone calls. I look forward to working more closely with IFPA’s wide network of partners in the coming year. Our foundation is strong. When we move together, we can create expansive improvements for everyone living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
This exciting journey will start next month. Until then, I wish everyone a safe and happy end of 2020.
Best wishes,
